Curbcut fetches publicly available pages and checks them against published rules from WCAG 2.1 and common SEO, security and performance practice. It reports what it finds, and for paid reports it writes suggested replacements.
An automated check can prove that specific failures exist. It cannot prove a site is accessible or compliant. Many requirements — whether alt text is actually meaningful, whether a page is understandable, whether a process can be completed without a mouse — need human judgement. Curbcut is a tool for finding and fixing a large class of common problems quickly. It is not a certification, not a legal opinion, and not a substitute for an audit by a qualified practitioner where one is required.
Suggested fixes, including generated text, are drafts for you to review. You are responsible for what you publish.
Only scan sites you own or are authorised to test. Curbcut obeysrobots.txt, honours crawl delays and rate-limits repeat scans of the same site, but you remain responsible for having permission.
Do not use Curbcut to overload a site, to circumvent access controls, or as a general-purpose crawling proxy. We rate-limit the service and may block use that looks like any of those.
The free scan is provided as-is, with no guarantee of availability or of any particular result. We may change or withdraw it.
Paid reports are sold through a payment provider who acts as merchant of record and whose terms apply to the transaction. If a report fails to generate or is obviously defective, tell us and we will re-run it or refund it.
To the extent the law allows, Curbcut is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service or from acting on its output. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
